Cereal Box Robot

A cereal box body, a tissue box head, toilet roll arms and whatever bottle caps you can find. No two ever come out the same, which is the whole point.

Cereal Box Robot

Read the full instructions and gather your supplies before starting.

Step 1 of 6

Tape the cereal box shut and wrap it in tin foil, shiny side out, taping the foil at the back. That's the body.

What a grown-up does

The hot glue gun, if you use one. White glue works, it just takes longer.

How to make it

6 steps. Tap one when it's done.

Why that works

Foil has no pattern and no colour of its own, so it reflects whatever's around it. That's why it reads as metal to your eyes even though it's paper thin.

Lambton County twist

Keep the cereal box's own graphics on the back. Ten years from now the robot will also be a record of what you ate for breakfast.
